What we do ...
Partners Bridget and John Fullard established Barrow Gardens to provide a reasonably priced garden design service.
Our preferred method is to involve you from the start. We take your expectations and preferences and translate them into the kind of garden you may have visualised, but which seemed out of reach. We aim to give you the garden you want rather than impose the blitz and glitz of the TV-style 'designer makeover'. We prefer the considered process of evolution to the shock of revolution.

Full garden design
From first survey to completed planting and construction works. We provide full drawings, including detailed planting plans and realistic artist's impressions. You will receive plant lists - detailing sizes, shapes, colours and seasonal interests, all fully costed.

Reorganising your garden
Not everyone needs a completely new garden, but you may want to reshape or restructure some parts of a garden which, otherwise, works for you. We specialise in replanting and remodelling schemes, whether just reviving one border, or adding features to wider areas.

Building design
Connect your house to your garden - make the best use of space and light to link interiors, and you, to the garden beyond. John originally trained and worked as an architect - we can provide designs and connect new and existing interiors to the garden spaces.

Construction and planting
We can do all the planting as part of a design project, or hand this work over to you, or your own gardener. For built landscapes - eg, patios and ponds - we can obtain quotes from our preferred specialists, or work alongside your own choice of contractor.

Garden upkeep
In addition to design-related services, Barrow Gardens offers a garden maintenance service - we prefer to call it 'garden care' - whether for existing gardens, or as follow-up care for our own completed schemes.
Regular or occasional upkeep, carried out with care and concern for your premises, privacy and pocket. Rates include clearing up and, if required, the removal of garden waste.
